Basij Commander Underscores National Unity
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer) Force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi highlighted the importance of national unity at the current juncture in Iran, saying the country’s core issue is making huge economic strides.
“Today, the enemy has targeted our unity, while we need unity today more than ever, and all authorities and political parties, organizations, groups and factions should avoid any measure that dents unity,” Naqdi said in a ceremony on Tuesday.
He also noted that the main issue that Iran faces at the current juncture is the necessity to create economic epic and a civilization paradigm.
In a message marking the beginning of the Persian New Year in March, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had emphasized the need for creation of a “political and economic epic” in the country.
Brigadier General Naqdi further argued that the Iranian nation should be vigilant in dealing with the country’s core issues, and warned that some try to deflect public attention from the basic issues that the country needs to come to grips with.
