First Vice President Felicitates China's National Day
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri in a message addressed to the Chinese prime minister congratulated him on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of founding the People’s Republic of China.
In his congratulation message to Prime Minister Li Keqiang, Jahangiri expressed hope that as a result of the efforts made by the two countries’ officials and their political will, the existing amicable ties would further expand in all fields of mutual interest in the future.
National Day commemorates the official founding of the People’s Republic of China, announced by Mao Zedong on October 1, 1949. It is one of China’s most important holidays and is considered one of the country’s two “golden weeks.”
The other one is China’s Lunar New Year Holiday. The term "golden weeks" refers to the fact that citizens usually get three days off in addition to a long weekend, giving them a full week of vacation.
