Iran's VP Felicitates Appointment of New Malian PM
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri in a message on Monday congratulated Musa Mara on his appointment as new Malian Prime Minister.
In his message, Jahangiri expressed the hope that relations between the two countries would witness further expansion in all fields of mutual interest.
Mara was appointed by Mali’s President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita to replace former Prime Minister Omar Tatam Li.
Africa is the continent that Iran has long strived to maximize relations with.
Iran is an observing member of the African Union (AU) and has shown an active presence in previous AU summit meetings.
Expansion of relations with African countries in all political, economic and cultural fields is top on the agenda of the Iranian foreign policy.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has repeatedly said that his government welcomes boosting relations with the African nations.
