Iranian Parliamentary Delegation Due in Ecuador
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A delegation of Iranian lawmakers will start an 8-day visit to Ecuador on Monday, an adviser to Iran's parliament speaker said.
Hossein Sheikholeslam, the adviser of Iran’s parliament speaker on international affairs, told the Tasnim News Agency on Monday that a five-strong Iranian team will depart Tehran for the South American nation today.
Hamidreza Fouladgar, head of Iran-Ecuador Parliamentary Friendship Group, will lead the team of Iranian legislators, Sheikholeslam added.
According to the adviser, the Iranian MPs are planned to hold meetings with the Ecuadorian lawmakers, parliament speaker and a number of the foreign ministry officials during their stay in the South American country.
The Iranians will likely pay a one-day visit to Colombia as well, Sheikholeslam noted.
Iran’s parliament has in recent months intensified measures to strengthen ties with parliaments of the other countries, following President Hassan Rouhani’s announcement that his administration will adopt the policy of constructive interaction with the world.
