Iran to Send New Ambassador to Jordan
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Charge d'Affaires to Jordan said Tehran's new ambassador to Amman would start his diplomatic mission in a few days.
Ahmad Hosseini said the new Iranian ambassador Mojtaba Ferdosipour would arrive in the Jordanian capital of Amman in a few days, reported the Arabic-language Al-Ghad Newspaper.
Earlier, Iran’s foreign ministry had announced that the new ambassador's trip to Jordan was postponed due to a number of personal problems and issues related to his job.
Ferdosipour’s last position was the director general of Iranian foreign ministry office for Middle Eastern affairs.
Following Iran’s foreign minister’s January trip to Jordan, Tehran and Amman started a new era of relations and decided to exchange ambassadors after six years.
Iran’s Charge d'Affaires says the Jordanian foreign ministry has named a new ambassador to Tehran. Currently, Nessar al-Habashaneh is active in Iran as Jordan's Charge d'Affaires.
Ahmad al-Jawarnah is said to be the new Jordanian envoy to Tehran.
Iran's new administration has on many occasions said that the expansion of bilateral ties with the neighboring and Islamic states is top on its agenda.
