Iran’s Army to Hold Drone Drills

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Army ground forces are scheduled to stage special exercises involving military unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the near future, a high-ranking commander announced.

Lieutenant Commander of Iran’s Army Ground Force General Kiomars Heidari said on Tuesday that the specialized drone wargame will take place in the Iranian month of Aban (October 23- November 21).

The commander also praised the country's high degree of military preparedness to counter potential threats, stressing that Iranian armed forces are able to target and demolish the enemy’s equipment that are used for long-range confrontations.

He underlined that any possible military action by the US against Iran will ensnare the American forces and their allies in an “ambush” that would lead to their ultimate annihilation.

In comment on Sunday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani underlined that Iran’s military industry is aimed at to safeguarding the country and deterring the enemy from invasion.

“If the enemy makes any mistakes, we will stand up to defend ourselves and will utilize our defensive equipment, since this is our moral right and is deemed a legitimate defense under the legal and religious criteria,” Rouhani stressed.

The Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the arms sphere.

Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
