Iran’s Alvanpour Wins Gold in Asian Para Games
INCHEON (Tasnim) – Iran’s Mohammad Alvanpour claimed a gold medal in the Men's Javelin Throw - F55/56 at the 2014 Asian Para Games on Monday.
Alvanpour seized the gold medal with a throw of 37.23 meters.
Vietnamese Hau Nguyen Be won the silver medal with 30.87 meters and bronze medal went to Shari Haji Juma’at from Brunei with 25.28 meters.
Iran has previously won six gold medals in the games.
Vahid Keshtkar claimed a gold medal in the men's 400m freestyle S13.
Erfan Hosseini won the gold medal in the men's javelin throw F12–13.
Sareh Javanmardi earned the gold medal in the Mixed 50 meter pistol SH1.
Discus thrower Alireza Mokhtari clinched a gold medal in the men’s F51/52/53.
Peyman Nasiri won the gold medal of the Men's 1,500m T20 final.
Sareh Javanmardi claimed a gold medal in the Women's P2-10m Air Pistol-SH1.
The 2014 Asian Para Games started on October 18 in Incheon, South Korea and will last until 24. The games feature around 5,000 athletes competing across 23 sports.
