Iran’s Top Judiciary Official Attends Human Rights Seminar in Italy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Chief of the Iranian Judiciary’s Human Rights Council Mohammad Javad Larijani headed for Italy to take part in a three-day human rights conference.

Heading a high-ranking delegation, Larijani is also scheduled to hold talks with a number of Italian political and judicial officials during his visit.

The visit comes as part of efforts to expand human rights cooperation between Iran and other countries including European states.

The conference is titled “Protection of Human Rights in Iran and Italy’s Criminal Justice System” and aims for comparing the two countries’ justice system.

Iranian and Italian judicial experts are to exchange views on issues related to human rights during the three-day event.

Iran has already criticized politicization of the human rights saying certain Western countries use the human rights as an instrument to pile up pressure on other nations.
