Iran Navy’s Gunship Helicopter Takes Action in Drills

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Massive military exercises in Iran entered their sixth day with the Navy flying its combat helicopter equipped with new assault weapons.

According to the Iranian Army’s public relations department, the attack helicopter, the first chopper armed by the Navy, debuted on Tuesday morning during the “Muhammad Rasulullah” (Muhammad, the messenger of God) wargame.

The AB-212 helicopter has been equipped with rocket launchers and machine guns.

The gunship performed operations in a maritime area by hitting the targets.

The Tuesday’s phase of the drills also saw naval commandos carrying out operations and the launch of Nour (Light) and Nasr (Triumph) sea-based missiles.

The massive military drills are underway in an area of 2.2 million square kilometers, stretching from the northern Indian Ocean (10 degrees latitude) to the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf.
