Everything Is Good in Zenit Kazan, Iran's Marouf Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The world’s best setter Saeid Marouf said that everything is good in his new volleyball club, Zenit Kazan.
Marouf joined Zenit Kazan from Shahrdari Oroumiyeh last month and now he is available to play for the Russian giant.
"I am finally in Kazan and everything is fine now." Marouf told Zenit Kazan website.
" I had to wait for the visa for three weeks because of the New Year's holidays, but I am happy because soon I will begin to play for one of the best teams in the world,” the Iranian international player underlined.
“All sports journalists from my home country have talked very much about this transfer, because I am the only Iranian volleyball player to play abroad at the moment. Let's see what will happen," said Marouf.
"I played 12 seasons in Iranian league and I think it was time for me to try myself somewhere else. And I believe that the Russian league is the strongest in the world. Zenit has called me twice, and after the second invitation I changed my mind and agreed to sign a contract."
"For me" Marouf stated "it is important that we win in all competitions, so that I can prove that Iranian volleyball players can be successful in foreign leagues too."
