Syrian Diplomat Hails Ayatollah Khamenei’s Pro-Islam Efforts
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A Syrian deputy foreign minister praised Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei for the efforts to illustrate the true image of Islam and for a recent letter that he said helps the youth gain a better understanding of realities on the ground.
“We express our gratitude to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for all his continuous efforts to describe and portray the real Islam,” Faisal Mekdad told the Tasnim News Agency in Damascus.
Ayatollah Khamenei’s purpose is to depict a transparent image of Islam, the religion of moderation and tolerance, which is the bedrock of peaceful coexistence among the nations, the Syrian diplomat added.
Mekdad also noted that the Supreme Leader’s recent message to the North American and European youth also helps raise awareness among the Islamic community’s youth, preventing them from being seduced by the terrorist groups that damage Islam in the name of religion.
Back on January 21, Ayatollah Khamenei wrote a letter asking the European and North American youths not to judge Islam based on the recent terrorist attacks that killed 17 people in French capital Paris.
In his letter, the Supreme Leader urged Western youths to try to gain a direct and firsthand knowledge of the religion in reaction to the flood of prejudgments and disinformation campaigns.
