Turkmen FM Calls for Closer Ties with Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Turkmenistan’s minister of foreign affairs emphasized the importance of closer cooperation between Tehran and Ashgabat in diverse areas.
At a meeting with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi held in the Turkmen capital on Monday, Rasit Meredow hailed mutual cooperation between the two neighboring countries in regional and international circles.
“Iran is a great country with numerous capabilities and we can see higher prospects for bilateral relations between the two countries in the area of energy, transportation, trade, fight against illicit drugs and consular affairs,” the Turkmen minister said.
He also said that the high-ranking officials of both countries are determined to promote “brotherly ties” in all spheres.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 11th session of the joint consular, border and customs commission of Iran and Turkmenistan.
