President Rouhani Urges Rapid Implementation of Iran Nuclear Deal
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called on all parties to the July 2015 nuclear agreement between Tehran and world powers, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), to quickly fulfill their obligations under the deal.
“The full and rapid implementation of the undertakings (mentioned) in the nuclear agreement is an important criterion and basis for building confidence between Iran and other negotiating countries…,” President Rouhani in a meeting with President of French National Assembly Claude Bartolone in Tehran on Tuesday.
He emphasized that the Islamic Republic has met all its commitments under the JCPOA, stressing the need for the other parties to the deal to do the same.
Rouhani also pointed to dozens of documents signed between Iran and France during his visit to Paris after the nuclear agreement, and said, “We are witnessing progress in implementing some of the agreements and their full implementation can create a change in Tehran-Paris relations.”
Bartolone, for his part, underlined that the nuclear deal between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) has created a win-win situation.
Iran has adhered to its commitments under the JCPOA, the French parliamentarian said, adding that all parties should make efforts so that the agreement is implanted correctly and completely.
The remarks come against the backdrop of a new wave of interest in ties with Iran after Tehran and the Group 5+1 on July 14, 2015 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program and started implementing it on January 16.
The comprehensive nuclear deal terminated all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran.
Experts believe that Iran's economic growth would rise remarkably after the complete implementation of the JCPOA.
