Defying Enemy Only Way to Achieve Revolution’s Objectives: Leader

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei emphasized that the only way for the Islamic Republic to materialize the objectives of the 1979 Islamic Revolution is through resisting arrogant powers.

In a Thursday meeting with members of Iran’s Assembly of Experts in Tehran, the Leader stressed that the country’s defying the enemy’s excessive demands is the only way for the “Establishment’s survival and development as well as materialization of the Revolution’s objectives.”

Imam Khamenei added that “true might” and “great Jihad” are two major characteristics of being non-obedient to the enemy.

The Leader further described as “very dangerous” the enemies’ plots to infiltrate Iran, stressing that the schemes are the continuation of their soft war against the Islamic Republic.

The global hegemony seeks to exert influence on the country’s “decision-making centers,” make changes in people’s beliefs and alter the calculations and stances of Iranian officials, the Leader added.

“Any state or nation that fails to put up resistance will eventually get caught in the (hegemonic powers’) trap,” Ayatollah Khamenei underscored.

The Leader has repeatedly urged vigilance in the face of enemy ploys to gain a political and cultural foothold in Iran, warning that the consequences of such infiltration would be much worse than that of enemy’s economic influence.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted safeguarding Iran’s nuclear capabilities in the negotiations that led to a nuclear agreement with world powers, saying that the country’s know-how in the area of this technology made enemies surrender and accept the country as a nuclear power.

“There was a time when the enemy would not accept even a single centrifuge inside Iran, but they finally surrendered in the face of Iran’s nuclear might,” the Leader said.

“In fact, it was not the Americans who gave (us) this concession; we got it with our own power,” Ayatollah Khamenei further stressed.

Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) on July 14, 2015 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran’s nuclear program and started implementing it on January 16.

According to the deal, which terminated nuclear-related anti-Tehran sanctions, Iran will continue its peaceful nuclear program and keep its centrifuges running under the surveillance of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
