Balkan Youth Hail Ayatollah Khamenei’s Message

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A group of young people from the Balkans sent a letter to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, praising his letter to the Western youth as a manifestation of the contemporary world’s demands.

On January 21, Ayatollah Khamenei wrote a letter calling on the European and North American youths to try to gain a direct and firsthand knowledge of Islam in reaction to the flood of prejudgments and disinformation campaigns.

This week, a group of Balkan youth responded to the Supreme Leader’s letter, describing that as a “sincere manifestation of our present pains, problems and demands,” Iran's cultural attaché office in Bosnia reported.

The Balkan youth also highlighted the significant role that “spiritual diplomacy of the religious leaders” can play in raising awareness of the nations and awakening the politicians in a world that media giants seek to conquer the minds and hearts of young people.

They also noted that the best procedure in the contemporary world seems to be “the creation of self-esteem and right, up-to-date knowledge of the divine religions, particularly of Islam.”

“We assure you that in reaction to the flood of prejudgments and negative propaganda, we will try to gain a direct… understanding of this religion (Islam) and know Islam through the authentic and firsthand sources,” the Balkan youth noted.

In the January letter, Imam Khamenei had called for efforts to “gain a direct and firsthand knowledge” of Islam.

“The right logic requires that you understand the nature and essence of what they are frightening you about and want you to keep away from,” the Leader had noted.

“I don’t insist that you accept my reading or any other reading of Islam. What I want to say is: Don’t allow this dynamic and effective reality in today’s world to be introduced to you through resentments and prejudices. Don’t allow them to hypocritically introduce their own recruited terrorists as representatives of Islam,” the Leader added.

“Receive knowledge of Islam from its primary and original sources. Gain information about Islam through the Qur’an and the life of its great Prophet. I would like to ask you whether you have directly read the Qur’an of the Muslims,” Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.
