180 Children Killed in Saudi-Led War on Yemen
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – At least 180 children have been killed and hundreds more injured in Saudi-led airstrikes in Yemen, amid shortage of medical supplies in the Arab country, media reports said.
The incessant attacks on Yemeni soil by Saudi Arabia and its allies have led to the death of a large number of civilians, including 180 children, Al Mayadeen TV channel reported on Wednesday.
The Riyadh-led coalition's onslaughts on Yemen are underway as the country's hospitals are facing a desperate shortage of medical supplies, according to the report.
The Lebanese-based TV channel also said that Saudi fighter jets on Wednesday pounded targets in the northwestern Yemeni province of Al Mahwit.
In the meantime, the Red Cross has warned of a "catastrophic" situation as shelling in Yemen intensified.
Saudi Arabia's military aggression against Yemen started on March 26 without a UN mandate in a bid to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.
The death toll in Yemen has been climbing since the aggression began, rising to at least 560 people dead and 1,768 wounded – most of them civilians – the World Health Organization (WHO) said Tuesday. Around 100,000 people are also said to have fled their homes.
