Iran's Int'l Status Getting Better Day by Day: President

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani hailed the favorable atmosphere created internationally following the progress in the nuclear talks between Tehran and world powers, saying that the country's status has been improving "day by day".

"Today, we have favorable conditions in the world," President Rouhani said Tuesday before departing for the Indonesian capital of Jakarta to participate in the 60th Asian-African Conference, also known as the Bandung Conference.

He pointed to the ongoing nuclear talks between Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany), saying that the negotiations are progressing with the "serious will" that the Islamic Republic has demonstrated.

The president expressed the hope that the other side in the talks would also show the same determination to make a comprehensive agreement possible in the next two months.

Rouhani said a final agreement will benefit all sides and create a new atmosphere for Iran's enhanced regional and international cooperation.

In their latest round of talks, on April 2, Iran and the Group 5+1 reached a framework nuclear agreement after more than a week of intensive negotiations in Lausanne, Switzerland, with both sides committed to push for a final, comprehensive accord until the end of June.

The framework provides a series of solutions that will be the basis of a comprehensive joint plan of action.

The two sides are scheduled to resume the negotiations on April 22 in the Austrian capital of Vienna.
