Iran Launches MiG-29 Simulator System
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Air Force on Saturday brought into service a homegrown simulator system for Russian-made MiG-29 fighter jets.
The simulator was unveiled in a ceremony at an Air Force base in Tehran.
General Bakhshandeh, an Air Force lieutenant commander, said in the ceremony that Iran has become self-sufficient in manufacturing simulator systems for military aircraft.
Back in April 2014, the Air Force unveiled a domestically-manufactured simulator system for French-made Mirage fighter jets with the capability to simulate flights in different weather conditions.
The simulator has been built to increase the Air Force pilots' accuracy and skills, improve flight safety standards and cut costs.
In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and has attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems.
Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to the regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic's defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
