Iran Flattens India in World Cup Qualifier
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian national football team defeated India 3-0 in the AFC World Cup qualifying Group D.
Sardar Azmoun opened India’s goal with a header in the 29th minute.
Iran captain Andranik Teymourian was on target, firing home a loose ball in the 47th minute.
Two minutes later, Mehdi Taremi scored from a decent range and made it 3-0 for Iran.
Carlos Queiroz’s men were dominant team but they squandered their chances.
The win took Iran to the top of group D with seven points while India remained at the bottom of the group with no points.
