Minister Sees Iran’s Art as Source of Inspiration for Resistance Movements


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian artists, musicians in particular, have had a profound impact on regional Muslim nations which are undergoing major upheavals, Iran’s minister of culture and Islamic guidance said today.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 5th Resistance Music Festival in Tehran, Seyed Mohammad Hosseini emphasized the importance of music and its effects on resistance movements, and described Iranian music as a source of inspiration for regional countries.

Hosseini then added that the contemporary era, which is witnessing the wave of resistance in many Islamic countries, could be positively affected by “resistance music.”

In recent years certain television channels in regional countries, the Iranian minister said, have been producing musical products under the inspiration of Iranian artists.

The 5th Resistance Music Festival  kicked off at Imam Khomeini's Mausoleum in the south of the Iranian capital, Tehran on Wednesday.
