Leader's Adviser Deplores Obama’s Obedience to Zionist Lobbies

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The US president’s shift in attitudes towards Iran signified the dominance of the Zionist lobbies over the US policies, Supreme Leader’s adviser for military affairs said Friday.

Addressing a gathering of Iranian military commanders and veterans in central city of Isfahan on Friday, Brigadier General Seyed Yahya Rahim Safavi deplored US President Barack Obama for falling under the influence of Zionist officilas in dealing with Iran.

Safavi explained that such a marked shift in Obama’s stances towards Tehran is either a sign of “lack of intellectual and political independence or the power and influence of Zionist lobbies in the US.”

His remarks came after US President Obama, in a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, announced that all options against Iran were on the table.

“It is absolutely clear that words are not sufficient,” Obama told Netanyahu at the Oval Office. “We take no options off the table, including military options.”

Obama, however, made the comments a few days after he had talked with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani over the phone as the Iranian official was on his way to leave New York City after the United Nations General Assembly.

Brigadier General Safavi further pointed to American and Zionist officials’ long-standing hostility towards the Islamic Republic, arguing, “The American’s carrot-and-stick policy has not changed substantially.”

He also explained that the “the survival and security” of the Zionist regime of Israel relies heavily on the US supports.
