Judicial Official Assassinated in Iran’s Southeastern City
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Prosecutor of an Iranian southeastern city, along with his driver, was assassinated Wednesday morning, an informed source told Tasnim on Wednesday.
Mousa Nouri, prosecutor of Zabol, was shot dead by unknown assailants this morning.
Zabol is a small town in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan, close to the border with Afghanistan.
Nouri and his driver were reportedly shot by a Kalashnikov assault rifle when they were driving to the city’s court at 8 am local time.
Ebrahim Hamidi, provincial justice department head, dismissed any link between the recent incidents and assasination of Mousa Nouri.
On October 25, armed bandits, entering from Pakistani territory, attacked an Iranian border post near the city of Saravan in southeast of the country, killing 14 border guards and injuring six others.
