Iran, G5+1 to Convene again in Geneva on November 20

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Top nuclear negotiators from Iran and the Group 5+1 (also known as P5+1, the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany) are scheduled to convene again in Geneva on November 20 as the negotiating parties ended three days of intensive talks on Sunday morning.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Geneva, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton announced that the two sides will hold another round of talks on Wednesday, November 20, in the Swiss city of Geneva.

Negotiating parties wrapped up three days of intensive talks this morning.

Zarif said that the two sides had “good talks” and underlined that the negotiating parties had necessary determination and good will to end this phase and implement first phase of agreement on the nuclear issue.

“We are resolved to take next steps forward in the upcoming sessions,” Zarif noted.

Iran's deputy foreign minister, Seyed Abbas Araqchi, said the talks will be held at the level of deputy foreign minister and next step will be for the foreign ministers of Iran and the six powers to finalize a deal.

"In my opinion, we had useful and constructive negotiations and to some extent reached an agreement. It is natural that the countries negotiating with us have different views. We hope to resolve the remaining differences on November 20," he added.
