Iran Navy Takes Firm Steps on Strategic Path: Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Commander of the Iranian Navy called for an all-out effort to strengthen the country’s armed forces, saying that the Navy has also made great strides in acquisition of a strategic state.

“We should all try for the development of our country’s armed forces. The Navy has also made firm and major strides in the path to become a strategic force; however, we should know that it is not easy to become so,” Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said on Sunday, November 10, in a gathering of Navy cadets in Iran’s northern city of Manjil.

In relevant remarks on October 22, Sayyari had announced that the Iranian navy is now much more powerful compared to previous years, noting that the progress has taken place in diverse fields.

“At the time being, we have become much more capable compared with the past years, at various levels such as maintenance, equipping coastal, airborne, marine, submarine and trans-regional units, and even in the field of hygiene and treatment,” he said at the time.

He had also noted that the high-ranking navy commanders have acquired scientific knowledge of managing the naval forces in recent years.
