IRGC Official Calls Iran "Main Axis in New Global Structure"


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) for cultural and social affairs termed Iran as the major axis in designing the new global power structure, saying the country can coordinate Islamic unity very well.

Addressing the international conference on the “Role of the Islamic World on the Global Power Structure” here in Tehran on Wednesday, Hamid Reza Moqaddamfar praised the Islamic Republic for the prominent role it plays among the Islamic countries in the contemporary era.

“At the current circumstances, the Islamic Republic of Iran is somehow the main axis in designing the new global structure,” he explained.

Moqaddamfar also alluded to the leading role of Iran among the Muslim nations, adding that the Islamic Republic can be the “axis of unity and rapport among the Islamic Ummah (community)” for a further influence on such solidarity.

The international conference on the Role of the Islamic World on the Global Power Structure wrapped up in the Iranian capital today.

The two-day conference was held under the auspices of Iran’s Supreme National Defense University, the Islamic Awakening Assembly secretariat and the Strategic Research Center of Iran's Expediency Council.

Dozens of leading figures and influential personalities in the Muslim world have taken part in the gathering.
