Leader's Adviser: Iran’s Defense Power Helpful to Muslim World Unity


TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader said the country's defense capabilities serve the interests of the Muslim world as they are aimed at boosting Islamic unity and defending Muslim nations.

Addressing a conference on the defense ideas of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution here in Tehran on Monday, Major General Seyed Yahya Rahim Safavi said that the Islamic Republic seek the establishment of justice-based peace in the world.

The former IRGC chief commander elaborated on the country's eight year defense against the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s military invasion, reiterating that Iran’s defense power is founded upon the resolve of the nation and the country’s geopolitical position.

Rahim Safavi further elaborated on the defense ideas of the Supreme Leader and said defense diplomacy in Imam Khamenei’s views includes principles such as rejecting domination, confronting global imperialism, interacting based on mutual respect and avoiding interference in other countries' internal affairs.
