Iran’s DM Sees US Meddling as Source of Int’l Instability

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said US interferences have given rise to insecurity in the world.

Speaking Saturday in a meeting with his Azeri counterpart, Dehqan regarded Washington’s interference in the internal affairs of other countries as a major cause of regional and global instability.

He called on all countries to oppose the “wrong” US approach and do their best to base international relations on mutual respect.

Dehqan further said the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is based on expansion of ties with neighboring countries, adding that Tehran attaches importance to development of relations with Baku.

Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, for his part, underlined the need for development of all-out cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting took place in Moscow on the sidelines of the Third International Security Issues Conference, which began in the Russian capital on May 23.

Representatives of over 50 countries as well as regional and international organizations attended the two-day conference to study the latest developments in the Middle East and North Africa as well as Ukraine’s developments and the expansion of Washington’s Anti-Russia missile shield in the Europe.
