IRGC Commander Highlights Iran's Global Influence
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has become an unbeatable global power despite all the hostilities and measures taken against the Islamic Republic by the enemies, a senior Iranian military commander said.
Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Hossein Salami on Wednesday said the enemies imposed sanctions on Iran to weaken the country but in spite of their attempts Iran is a "great, credible, and invincible world power" today.
He stressed that the world powers have never stopped their enmity against the Islamic Revolution in the past 36 years, but the revolution has remained unharmed and keeps making progress.
General Salamai further reiterated that the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran (in 1979) was the beginning of a change in the world’s power structure and that it shattered the phony grandeur of the great powers.
In relevant remarks last week, the senior commander had described the victory of the revolution as a ‘geopolitical shock’ in the world during the final decades of the Cold War.
General Salamai had also said the Islamic revolution is deeply rooted in an integrated intellectual system that is capable of providing plans and strategies to counter all challenges.
The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime in 1979, ending 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.
The Islamic Revolution, under the leadership of Imam Khomeini, established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
