Belgium Starts World Cup with Victory over Algeria


TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Belgium national football team beat Algeria 2-1 in Group H of the 2014 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday.

In the match held at the Estadio Mineirao, Sofiane Feghouli was on target for Algeria from the penalty spot in the 24th minute.

Substitute Estadio Mineirao found the back of the net with a header in the 70th minute.

Belgium was dominant after the goal and eventually scored the winner. With 10 minutes remaining, Dries Mertens scored with a right-footed blast.

Belgium will play Russia on June 22 and South Korea face Algeria.
