World Cup 2014: Colombia Beats Ivory Coast 2-1
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Colombia moved to the brink of securing a place in the last 16 of the 2014 FIFA World Cup with victory over Ivory Coast in Group C on Thursday.
James Rodriguez gave Colombian team a lead in the 64th at the Estadio Nacional in Brasilia.
Six minutes later Juan Quintero extended the lead.
Ivory Coast kept attacking and equalized the match with a solo effort by Gervinho in the 73rd minute.
The win puts Colombia atop its group with six points through two matches and into prime position to emerge into the knockout round.
