TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Giant-killer Costa Rica football team defeated Italy 1-0 in Group D of the 2014 World Cup on Friday.
Just before the halftime, Bryan Ruiz scored the only goal of the match with a header at the Arena Pernambuco.
Costa Rica locks up a spot in the Round of 16 for the first time since 1990.
England was officially eliminated, while Uruguay and Italy will face off next week to see who moves on.
Italy will move on with a win or a draw due to goal differential.
