France Wrecks Switzerland 5-2

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - France football team crushed Switzerland 5-2 in Group E of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The Blues are on the brink of reaching the World Cup last 16 after the emphatic victory at the Arena Fonte Nova.

Olivier Giroud was on target with a header in the 17th minute and Blaise Matuidi extended France’s lead just one minutes later.

Karim Benzema missed a penalty in the 32nd minute and just before the break, Mathieu Valbuena made it 3-0.

Benzema scored France’s fourth goal in the 67th minute and Moussa Sissoko scored six minutes later.

Blerim Dzemaili and Granit Xhaka scored late consolation goals for Switzerland in the 81st and 87th.

"This could have been more than perfect. We were up against a good team and to score five goals and win 5-2, it was a very good evening. Six points after two matches is ideal,” France's coach Didier Deschamps said in the post match news conference.
