Iranian Diplomat in Beirut for Lebanon Talks
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for African and Middle Eastern Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian arrived in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Saturday to hold talks with the country’s high-ranking officials on issues of mutual interest.
Upon his arrival at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport, Amir-Abdollahian was warmly welcomed by a number of Lebanese officials and Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Mohammad Fathali.
During his visit to the country, Amir Abdollahian is planned to meet with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Tammam Salam and Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil.
Latest regional developments particularly those in Lebanon, Iraq and Syria, ways to fight terrorism, Israeli atrocities against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and means of supporting the Palestinian nation and the Resistance Movement, are among the issues expected to be discussed in the talks.
