Iran Keeper Haghighi on Verge of Joining Penafiel
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Portuguese football club Penafiel is set to sign Iranian international goalkeeper Alireza Haghighi.
The 26-year-old goalie joined Russia's Premier League Rubin Kazan on a four-year contract in January 2012 but moved to Portuguese second division team Sporting Covilhã on loan last year.
Following solid performances in Group F of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the Iranian custodian has been linked with a move to newly-promoted Penafiel.
