Iran Favors Expanding Ties with Slovakia

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s president on Sunday expressed the hope for the enhancement of relations between Tehran and Bratislava in light of joint endeavors.

“I hope that through joint efforts, we would witness increasing expansion of ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Slovak Republic in various fields,” President Hassan Rouhani said in a message on Sunday.

He sent the congratulatory message to his Slovak counterpart, Andrej Kiska, on the occasion of the Slovak Republic’s Constitution Day.

The Central European country celebrates the 22nd anniversary of its constitution on September 1.

The present-day Slovakia became an independent state in 1993 after the peaceful dissolution of Czechoslovakia.

The Constitution of the Slovak Republic was ratified on September 1, 1992, and went into effective on January 1, 1993.
