Iranian Parliamentary Team Visits Ireland
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A delegation of Iranian lawmakers, led by Head of Iran-Ireland Parliamentary Friendship Group Javad Heravi, started a visit to Dublin on Sunday to hold talks with Irish officials.
The five-strong Iranian team has travelled to Dublin at the invitation of head of Ireland-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group.
During their four-day stay in the European country, the Iranian MPs will hold meetings with a number of senior Irish lawmakers and Ireland’s minister of agriculture to explore avenues for the expansion of relations between the two countries.
They are also planned to visit a number of industrial, academic and educational centers in Ireland.
Back in January, an Irish parliamentary delegation, led by Chairman of the Irish Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade Pat Breen, paid an official visit to Iran.
At the time, Breen had announced Dublin’s enthusiasm for expanding comprehensive relations with Tehran, particularly in agricultural and commercial fields.
“The Irish parliament is interested in the expansion of friendly and close cooperation with the Iranian Parliament,” he had announced in a meeting with Heravi on January 11 in Tehran.
