Iran Volleyball Team into Asian Games Final
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran volleyball team defeated China in straight sets (25-15,25-15,25-19 ) in the 2014 Asian Games on Thursday.
The Iranian volleyball team will play winner of South Korea and Japan at the Songnim Gymnasium in Incheon, South Korea on Friday.
“We played very well against China and qualified for the final match,” Iran coach Slobodan Kovac said.
“We are here to win the gold medal. South Korea and Japan are strong teams but we are not afraid of any team in the final match,” he added.
Some 9,500 athletes from 45 countries are competing at the Games, the world's second-biggest multi-sport event after the summer Olympics, with 439 gold medals in 36 sports up for grabs.
Iran has participated in the games with 276 athletes in 22 sports.
