Iran to Promote Trade Ties with Caspian Sea Littoral States
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Iranian trade official praised the potential of Anzali Free Zone, north of Iran, to attract foreign investment, emphasizing the need to use the capacity to boost economic interaction with the Caspian Sea littoral states.
“Anzali Free Zone have special capacities to attract foreign and domestic investment,” Head of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Valiollah Afkhami said during his visit to the port city of Anzali on Sunday.
He also said that Iran is seeking to promote trade ties with the Caspian Sea littoral states through utilizing the free zone.
“Identifying the target markets in other countries, Caspian Sea littoral states in particular, is one of the good plans that Trade Promotion Organization of Iran has put on the agenda,” he noted.
A whole host of foreign companies have found new grounds for investment in Iran following the election of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in August 2013.
Rouhani has repeatedly voiced Iran’s willingness to woo foreign investors in various sectors along with a new plan on foreign policy.
In August 2014, Rouhani said Iran’s new approach to foreign policy has raised its level at the international arena, and promised that the country will turn into a major investment center thanks to interaction with the world.
