Israeli Settler Runs over Two Palestinian Children, Killing One

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An Israeli settler ran over 2 Palestinian girls with a car in the West Bank, killing one of them.

Five year-old Enas Khalil died after an Israeli settler hit the Palestinian girl with his car in the town of Sinjil, near Ramallah Sunday. According to eyewitnesses, the settler fled the scene after the incident.

“Eneas Khalil, 5, succumbed to injuries she sustained when she was hit by a settler’s car,” reported Samir Saliba, director of the Emergency Department in the Ramallah Medical Complex.

Another girl, Nilin Asfour, 8, was injured in the incident although she is listed in stable condition, teleSUR reported.

Israeli authorities have not made comments about the incident yet.

The attacks by Israeli settlers on Palestinians across the West Bank have increased over the last few months.

Palestinian Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah accused Israel of covering up the recent wave of crimes committed against Palestinians by Jewish settlers and army.

Bahaa Badr, a 13-year-old boy was shot in the chest and killed Thursday by Israeli forces also near Ramallah city. Laila Ghanam, governor of Ramallah said that the killing of the boy was a “stain on a silent world” and an example of Israel’s crimes against children.

An Israeli forces spokesman said that the soldiers fired at the youth after he allegedly threw a firebomb at them. It is still unclear if Badr took part in the clashes between the Israeli Army and Palestinian protestors due to the restrictions imposed by Israel on Palestinians wishing to enter the Al-Aqsa mosque, the third holiest Muslim site.
