Iran, Armenia Eye Stronger Trade Ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian foreign minister and Armenia’s prime minister in a meeting explored avenues for the expansion of all-out ties between Tehran and Yerevan, specially the economic relations.
Iran’s top diplomat Mohammad Javad Zarif held a meeting with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan in Tehran on Monday.
The two officials discussed the ways on how to enhance Tehran-Yerevan relations in the sphere of economy, commerce, infrastructure and tourism.
Moreover, they both emphasized the necessity for the removal of obstacles to the promotion of all-out ties between the two neighboring countries.
Zarif and Abrahamyan also called for the continuation of reciprocal visits by the two counties’ officials and further interaction on the issues of mutual interest.
Iran and Armenia have always enjoyed amicable relations in a whole host of fields.
Back in May, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani highlighted the expansion of trade ties with Armenia, saying the two countries’ private sectors can contribute to broadening of economic cooperation between Tehran and Yerevan.
