Iran’s Discus Thrower Beit Sayah Wins Gold


INCHEON (Tasnim) – Iran’s discus thrower Sadegh Beit Sayah claimed a gold medal in the Men's Discus Throw - F41 in the 2014 Asia Para Games underway in Incheon, South Korea, on Wednesday.

The Iranian athlete came first with a throw of 37.32 meters.

Iraqi Wildan Nazar Hasan Nukhailawi and Kovan Hasan Abdulraheem won the silver and bronze medals with the throws of 29.38 and 28.82 meters respectively.

Iran has previously won 13 gold medals in the games.

Vahid Keshtkar claimed a gold medal in the men's 400 m freestyle S13.

Erfan Hosseini won the gold medal in the men's javelin throw F12–13.

Sareh Javanmardi earned the gold medal in the Mixed 50 meter pistol SH1.

Discus thrower Alireza Mokhtari clinched a gold medal in the men’s F51/52/53.

Peyman Nasiri won the gold medal of the Men's 1,500m T20 final.

Sareh Javanmardi claimed a gold medal in the Women's P2-10m Air Pistol-SH1.

Mohammad Alvanpour clinched a gold medal in the Men's Javelin Throw - F55/56.

Amir Jafari Arangah seized the gold medal in weightlifting.

Mahnaz Amini claimed a gold medal in the Women's Shot Put - F57.

Younes Seifipour won a gold medal in the Men's Shot Put - F32.

Alireza Mokhtari clinched a gold medal in the Shot Put - F53/54.

Mahnaz Amini grabbed a gold medal in the Women's Javelin Throw - F57.

Danial Souraniyan won a gold medal in the Men's Shot Put - F35/36.

The 2014 Asian Para Games started on October 18 in Incheon, South Korea and will last until 24. The games feature around 5,000 athletes competing across 23 sports.
