Iran after Full Removal of Sanctions: President Rouhani

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday voiced his administration’s determination to end the sanctions regime against the country forever.

Addressing a huge gathering of people in the city of Zanjan on Wednesday, President Rouhani reassured Iranians that the administration will never stop short of safeguarding the nation’s rights.

"At the same time” he added “we vigorously seek to remove the cruel wall of sanctions once and for all.”

The president also pointed to Iran’s foreign policy agenda, saying negotiations with world powers are in progress within the framework of “constructive interaction.”

His comments came as Iran and six world powers (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) are in talks to reach a final agreement over Tehran’s peaceful nuclear energy program and the removal of unjustified sanctions against Iran.

Iran and the Group 5+1 (also known as the P5+1 or E3+3) clinched a landmark interim deal in Geneva, Switzerland, on November 23, 2013. The agreement took effect on January 20 and expired six months later on July 20.

In July, the two sides agreed on the extension of their discussions until November 24 in an effort to achieve a permanent nuclear deal to settle a decade-long standoff on Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy program.
