Iran to Offer Postgraduate Courses in Cyber Defense

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran is now training Master of Science students in the field of cyber defense, head of Iran’s Civil Defense Organization announced, noting that the doctoral classes in that field will be also established in future.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the “Cyber Defense in Municipal Management” conference, held in Tehran on Wednesday, General Gholam Reza Jalali said his organization thought of the postgraduate classes in the cyber defense field because of its “inclusive” prospect of the subject.

The plan for credits of the cyber defense courses for the MSc and PhD students has been approved by Iran’s Science Ministry, Jalali noted.

The official noted that a detailed plan is being prepared for the academic training in the cyber defense subjects due to inadequacy of the fields and university students in the “banking and industrial” sectors, which he said are very significant for the country.

His remarks came after Iran’s civil defense national strategy document was unveiled on Tuesday.

In recent years, Iranian officials have attached a great deal of importance on civil defense tactics to counter a whole host of threats.
