IFF Likely to Appoint Kranjcar as New Head Coach of Iran Olympic Team

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Zlatko Kranjcar could be appointed as the new head coach of Iran Olympic football team next week.

Former Montenegro coach Kranjcar will travel to Tehran to negotiate with Iran Football Federation (IFF), Olympic team manager, Habib Kashani, said.

“Kranjcar is in London now and will travel to Iran next week. He said that to take charge of Olympic team is a backward step but he is ready to help our team,” Kashani said.

IFF is going to terminate the contract with Portuguese coach Nelo Vingada.

Under tutelage of Vingada, the Iranian Olympic football team suffered an early exit from the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
