Behdad Salimi Snatches Silver in World Weightlifting Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - 2012 Olympic gold medalist Behdad Salimi claimed a silver medal in the 2014 World Weightlifting Championships underway in Almaty, Kazakhstan on Sunday.
The Iranian super heavyweight lifter lifted a total of 457kg, comprising a 206kg snatch lift and a 251kg clean and jerk.
Roslan Albegov from Russia, who finished third in London behind Iranian lifters Salimi and Sajjad Anoushiravani, claimed a gold medal with a total of 462kg. He lifted 210kg in the snatch and 252kg in the clean and jerk.
The bronze medal went to Egyptian lifter Mohamed Ehsan Attia Massoud who lifted a total of 436kg.
Massoud snatched 193kg and lifted 243 in the clean and jerk.
