IFF Condemns Israeli Army Attack on Palestinian Football Federation

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran Football Federation (IFF) issued an announcement condemning the Israeli army’s raiding and searching of the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) headquarters in Jerusalem (al-Quds).

On Monday, an Israeli army force broke into the PFA’s headquarters located in the town of ar-Ram, north of Jerusalem, searched it and assaulted its employees.

In a statement, the IFF said, “Yet, we have not forgotten Israel’s attacks on the oppressed and defenseless people in the Gaza Strip. Attacking on the Palestinian Football Association (PFA) headquarters is another violation of international laws."

"It contradicts the spirit of football,” the statement added.

Blatter subsequently sent a letter of condemnation to PFA’s President, Jibril Rajoub, condemning the Israeli attack and describing it as ‘terrible’.

Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa also condemned the incident.
