Iran Beach Volleyball Team Makes History
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Saber Hoshmand and Bahman Salemiinjehboroun qualified for main draw at the 2015 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour on Tuesday.
The Iranian team made history by defeating Keifer Govender and Jerome Fredericks 2-1 (19-21, 21-9, 15-10) at the Rose Garden Park in the South African town of Bloemfontein.
They are the first ever Iranian team to qualify for main draw at a World Tour event, FIVB wrote.
“We played well. It’s the first time me and my partner played on the World Tour and also the first time in main draw. So we are proud,” Hoshmand said.
The 2014 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour is an international beach volleyball circuit organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB).
