Islamic Revolution Should Be Role Model: IRGC Commander

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Revolution of Iran needs to become a shining example for the other world nations, the IRGC commander stressed.

“Today, the eyes are riveted on the Islamic Republic and Iran’s Islamic Revolution,” Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said in an address to a gathering of IRGC commanders in Tehran on Tuesday.

He said the Islamic Revolution’s cause is rapidly spreading in the world, because Iran has proposed new ideas on the basis of religious and Islamic teachings.

The commander described “opposition to tyranny and battling against hegemony” as the main characteristic of the Islamic Revolution that has made it more dynamic in the world.

Major General Jafari also reaffirmed the IRGC’s commitment to safeguarding the country’s establishment against the threats.

“The IRGC, known as the guardian of the Islamic Revolution and its achievements, should protect the revolution’s promotional status progressively,” he added.

The IRGC was founded shortly after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran back in 1979. With its own ground forces, navy and aerospace division, the IRGC’s raison d'être is to safeguard the country’s establishment against the hostile threats.
