Iran Striker Ghoochannejhad on Persepolis Radar

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran’s Persepolis has interested in signing Kuwait SC striker Reza Ghoochannejhad.

Ghoochannejhad signed a season-long loan deal with Kuwaiti club from English Championship side Charlton Athletic in August.

Kuwait SC has announced plans to replace Ghoochannejhad with Rogério de Assis, a Brazilian who has ended his loan spell in Saudi club al-Shabab and is supposed to return to the Kuwaiti outfit.

Persepolis is preparing to participate in the 2015 AFC Champions League, where the Iranian popular team has been drawn along with Saudi champion Nassr and Qatari Stars League winner Lekhwiya in Group A.

Ghoochannejhad, who scored Iran’s goal in the loss to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, was the second Iranian to play for Charlton after legendary midfielder Karim Bagheri.

Ghoochannejhad also scored the winner against Korea Republic which saw Team Melli qualify for Brazil 2014.

The Mashad-born striker, nicknamed Gucci, moved to the Netherlands at the age of four and has also played for Heerenveen, Go Ahead Eagles, Emmen, Cambuur, as well as Belgian sides St Truiden and Standard Liege.
