Sardar Azmoun Voted Iran’s Young Player of Year
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iran's international striker Sardar Azmoun has been voted by the fans as the Young Player of the Year.
In a poll taken by the popular Iranian TV program “90”, the 20-year-old took 49% of the votes, more than second-placed Mehdi Taromi (24%) and third-placed Morteza Pouraliganji (13%).
Azmoun joined FC Rostov from Robin Kazan in late February for the rest of the Russian premier league.
He was a key player of the Iranian football team in the 2015 AFC Asian Cup in Australia.
Azmoun scored two vital goals against Qatar and Iraq.
